Develop revolutionary educational games at Kombio

Unread post by tobiasdam » 26 Dec 2011, 17:24

Kombio is hiring developers

The ultra-short job description
We are looking for developers with substantial experience to lead the continuous development of “The Virtual Lab” – a prize-winning virtual laboratory and educational platform. Currently, our product is based on Flash and AS3; hence experience with those is a must.

What is Kombio?
We are a growing team of people developing a game-like universe for teaching biotechnology and other sciences. Our product is used by high schools in Denmark with great success, and we are currently focusing on launching internationally. With our new way of learning, we give students a possibility to work with exciting challenges in a virtual 3D-environment that simulates reality. With our product, students are able to carry out the exact same routines as the student would have carried out in a real-life professional lab - which is not available at schools. This increases learning and student engagement.

A social responsible project with lots of media attention

Your first assignments
Currently two cases (or “levels”) have been developed for The Virtual Lab, and another two is in the pipeline. Your first task will be to code and implementing these two new cases into our current version.

What we are looking for
We just launched The Virtual Lab 1.0. What we are looking for ideally, is a responsible, experienced and self-driven architect/lead developer, who cannot only do a lot of coding him/herself, but can also structure the development process in the future, and draw on a external network when developing tasks get more complex and demanding. You will be expected to actively strive to learn new skills and develop existing skills that are relevant to your role in Kombio – always keeping an up-to-date knowledge of appropriate techniques, trends and tools.

What we offer
You will get lots of responsibility and influence in a fast growing company with a flat governance structure. We have office facilities available in Copenhagen at CBS (Frederiksberg) and DTU (Lyngby) for you to use whenever you want. As long as you complete your tasks on time, your work hours will be very flexible. Join us, if you want to work in a young inspiring environment with entrepreneurs that have a good track record and a strong urge to break boundaries.
