Internship - 2D/3D artists for pilot projects

Unread post by vonknut » 26 Jun 2012, 14:43

PortaPlay is presently working on several pilot projects experimenting with different approaches to ARG's, children games, and interactive storytelling.
For these projects, we are looking for gifted 2D / 3D artists, who are interested in "learning by trying new and funky stuff" - while still getting a published / released projects on the portfolio.

The projects
We could use your help experimenting and iterating with some of our projects, such as:

-Web/Tablet based interactive documentaries for international distribution with existing documentaries
-On-location and indoor ARG for DR's Concert house
-ARG based multiplayer FPS, for appstore
-Physics based, interactive playground for kids, for international distribution with existing IP

The projects are still in the pre-development phase and are mostly "un-proven ground", meaning that we will rely heavily on prototyping and iterative processes. –and this is where we need you!
We are often combining tech in odd ways, to create new user experiences, so be prepared to "boldly go where no man has gone before" (or woman).

Your tasks
What you will work on depends on your skills and preferences.
Typically your work will center around conceptualizing new and fun gameplay scenarios, together with the game or level designer.
Then create and implement new assets to test it, in a series of rapid-prototyping / iterative gameplay tests -cycles.

The formalia
The internships are unpaid and can range from 1 to 6 month, either part or full time.
The internships is planned to start late August / early September.

Experience in Unity is an absolute plus, but not a requirement.
You will be trained in our pipeline and setup, but you will have a major degree of freedom in your design work, as we are looking for new solutions, to new types of experiences.

About us
PortaPlay is an indie-development company, residing on Pilestræde. We are mainly working with co-development of new IP / interactive entertainment for existing IP's. We are working mostly with mobile, tablets and web platforms, doing both "classic games", ARG's, experimental projects and commercial infrastructure solutions.
On a daily basis, we are cooperating - and hanging out with KnapNok Games and the “Conlan’s Claim” guys (now changed to “Unclaimed Worlds”), as well as a lot of non-game media companies such as DR, Tv2, Klasse Film, Die Asta Experience, SRL Architects and many others.
