Unread post by kristine » 07 Nov 2012, 15:52

Where: Filmhuset, Gothersgade 55 – Bio Asta (in the basement)
When: January 10th 2013, 16.30-18.30

How can you make games about paedophilic priests, unmanned drones in Afghanistan, Apples allegedly world-destroying smartphones and simulate running a McDonalds restaurant? With the motto ’Radical Games Against the Tyranny of Entertainment’, the one-man guerrilla-army Molleindustria has been pushing the limits of what games can express through political flash-games since 2003. He makes games with topics that are in explicit opposition to the mainstream video game industry.

Join us and go guerrilla with Molleindustria at SpilBar 13.0.
We will be back with more information when we get closer.

SpilBar 13: Play´N Provoke

Where: Filmhuset, Gothersgade 55 – Bio Asta (in the basement)
When: Thursday, January 10th 16.30-19.00
Why: Press any button to provoke

PROGRAMME

16.30: Welcome

16:35: Paolo Pedercini (Molleindustria): How to piss off the Catholic church, McDonald’s, and Apple with games.

17:20: Interview & discussion - hosted by Thomas Vigild

17:45: Beers, games and mingling in the lobby

How do you provoke the hell of out the Catholic church, McDonald’s, Apple and the US Army? One way is to make make games about paedophilic priests, the soldiers controlling the unmanned drones in Afghanistan, the neverending commercialized loop behind Apple’s third world-destroying smartphones and how to run a fastfood-restaurant into the ground.

Join us for SpilBar 13.0 where the one-man-guerilla-game provocateur Paolo Pedercini, aka Molleindustria, will talk about how to create provocative guerilla games, which highlights the moral challenges in the world through not only their sound and graphics, but also their central game mechanics.

With the motto ’Radical Games Against the Tyranny of Entertainment’, Molleindustria (meaning soft industry/soft factory) has been pushing the limits of what games can express through political flash-games since 2003.

Molleindustria has obtained extensive media coverage and critical acclaim while hopping between digital art, academia, game design, media activism and internet folk art.

About Paolo Pedercini

Paolo Pedercini is an Italian game developer, artist and educator. He teaches digital art and experimental game design at the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Since 2003 he has been working under the project name ’Molleindustria’ producing provocative games addressing issues of social and environmental justice, religion, and labor and alienation.
