Here is the first trailer for our upcoming game Vindicator: Uprising, which will be released for various formats. The game has been nine months in production but is far from finished. We still hope that this trailer will give you an idea of what the game is about and that you will like what we have done so far. Your feedback is appreciated.

Er helt enig. Stilen og grafikken flyder simpelthen perfekt sammen. Så er spørgsmålet om gameplay også følger godt med ;)

ENGLIRZH: I totally agree. The style and graphics looks perfect together. The question is if the gameplay works too ;)

Vindicator: Uprising playable demo released!

It’s a single screen, retro style platform shoot ‘em upwith pixelated graphics and an orchestral soundtrack. You play a special agent fighting hordes of angels after turning against his order.

Good work guys! it has a really nice feel. Solid controls and good enemies.

Without doubt this is a game aimed at the hardcore twich skill platformer fans. Sadly I am not part of that group. Not anymore anyways.
It's really haaaaard! (I hate you btw.) ;)

I only managed to get the key on the first map of my first play session.

But still it's a good kind of hard. You keep coming back just a few more times to try to beat the map.

However.. personally. I would like to see a noob mode. With significant more health per life. And perhaps less enemy respawning.

cheers!

Thanx for C&C!

There's sure to be some minor tweaking for the full game.
It's hard to get that "horribly hard but addictive" feel for a platformer (maybe easier for HC rpg games).

Update: gameplay video

Like an old school game, it's pretty hard to master (and beat the demo)
Here's a nice playthrough of the first level (Warning: tactics spoilers!)

By the way.. I was a bit late to discover the dodge mechanic. certainly helps!
Now I can experience the pain an anguish of failing late on level 2. ;)

*edit* level 3 now.

But to other people out there.. give it a spin! It's great!

Awesome guys! :)
I can see I made your shipping hiscore list. Thanks! I'll put you guys in my upcoming game.

Haven't given it a lot of time yet. But the difficulty has been taken a notch down. That's a good thing. Means I have a chance to explore all the work you put in the later levels.
Love how you cater to each map.
I'm a little sad to see the flame sword Angel guarding the health pick up at level 2 go. That encounter was a really good tension point. Optionally having to risking life and limbs to get that extra health.

And in contrast to earlier statements.. It's seems I am still in the target group for twitch based hardcore platformers. ;)

Oh and get your game out there on Desura + Steam + GOG. I'm sure it will find an audience.

Really cool.

I really like the graphics and sound, I still haven't been able to complete the first level even though I have player an earlier version.
I have had the opposite realization of Jonaz, that perhaps I am not such a hardcore platformer player as I would like to think.
I still plan on completing the first level one day!
