(Mobil) Kaptajn Kaper full source code is on GitHub.
An old project I made with Tommy Andersen from LogicWork. Now hobby indiedev at http://mightycodedragon.com.
I was as fun little spare time project. It's was not a big project. But it took some time to finish on the side. With some long breaks as far as I remember. The goal was a re-imagined Kaptain Kaper with some additional more action based gameplay with a visual make over and some other changes.
MobilKaper originally released on our website in 2007? for J2ME mobile devices. Didn't sell anything to speak of. But that's ok. :)

It was breaking a bit with the pure original kaper experience. But didn't see any reason to do a 1:1 recreation. Since the original was already running fine on DosBox. And it was more fun to add something new rather than just doing a direct port.
Also I wanted some action sequences more reminiscent of the North Vs. South to spice things up at bit when boarding and attacking ships. Worked pretty good on my mobile phone at the time. Which has a small d-pad like thingie. But in hindsight now the best solution for all mobile devices at the time. But some of my friends who played it had great fun. Playing on the emulator now is actually pretty decent!

And now the full source code and the visual assets is available on GitHub. Thanks to Tommy! Super awesome!

*UPDATE*
Found the original builds!
You should probably go for the build in the 'MobilKaperBuilds\High2A_FINAL' Folder. It was built to support REALLY low memory devices. The smallest build is less than 64KB. But also it doesn't look that great. ;)

It's super easy to get running on your modern phone or desktop emulator.

Oh yeah.. the Stadia reviews are in. Not too pretty! :|
They will have a lot of work ahead of them. And the competition for live gaming streaming services is not far behind. Companies with actual players, game libraries and exclusives.

I expect Stadia to fizzle out within a shorter time frame. Maybe give it a few years. Google has not demonstrated patience with expensive projects which is not super financial viable products.
They do have the super power of owning YouTube. But still it will be against heavy odds on all fronts.

Oh and totally almost not game related. But I'm sure all you geeks can appreciate a little something else once in a while.
I watched the first 2 episodes of The Mandalorian. And it comes absolutely recommended! To my surprise actually. Honestly didn't expect that much.
It's a very single point focused story on the main character. Using a masked protagonist which rarely talks. The overall effect just enhances the level of you projecting yourself into the main character. And a well paced narrative.
A dude with an endless stream of problems it seems. ;) Skilled but not completely over powered.
The first two first episodes left me wanting more. They have sown a few story seeds to follow up.

Related. I have not done any preordering of tickets for Mickey Wars - Rise of Skywalker. I'm very much on.. maaaaybe... let's wait and see. Leaks and rumors is pointing towards a disaster.... but with low expectations..?! ;)

Unreal Engine 4 used in previz on the series.
https://venturebeat.com/2019/11/19/why- ... s-credits/

And also a sidenote. Our very own Ghost VFX www.ghost.dk has worked on both The Mandalorian and The Rise of Skywalker.

Also caught the first two eps of Rick and Morty season 4. It works! But so far I'm not so much in love with the show as season 1,2,3. Hope it grows back on me. :)

Another OT: But one of those ScfiFi things you only expect to see in games.
Mind blowing! Real life invisibility! (Light bending) Well there has been some advances on bending light around small objects in specific wave lengths earlier. But this is absolutely ground breaking!

Boom! Half-Life :Alyx Coming March 2020. VR Only.
Looks badass! Starts pushing furniture around. ;)

One thing in the trailer.. they don't really show how traversal works. :| All the scenes seems fairly static in movement. Besides the natural walking around in place.
I really hope they didn't go for teleporting. Or small confined room scenes (I'm actually guessing on the latter).
You CAN totally do proper smooth player movement in VR without getting sick with a few tricks and design constraints. I did a prototype on that a couple of years ago.

Also Source 2 will be included for modding. Nice!
"Community-built environments, available via Steam Workshop
A set of Source 2 tools for building new levels will be available for the game, enabling any player to build and contribute new environments for the community to enjoy. Hammer, Valve’s level authoring tool, has been updated with all of the game's virtual reality gameplay tools and components."

First Class Trouble - Free Closed Alpha Test
Now you have the chance to play the first closed Alpha of First Class Trouble straight from your HOME PC!

For the first time, the game now runs on dedicated matchmaking servers and can be played directly from your own PC. We can’t wait to show you what we have been working on, the past year.

The game is still on an early stage and there is a ton of new features we still want to implement, but that is exactly why we need you to help us build and improve the game.

First Class Trouble is an asymmetric multiplayer game that blends cooperation and deception as players try to figure out who they can trust as they fight to survive aboard a luxury space cruise-liner that’s had an A.I. uprising.

The test will run on Monday 2nd of December from 14-22 (GMT+1) and you just need to play at least a game or two within that time window. Each session is about 15 minutes.

Not able to participate? Don't worry - we will have more Alpha tests coming up in December and January!

OBS:

- You WILL need a MICROPHONE/HEADSET to play the game at the current state.

- There are limited slots, so be sure to get your ticket on Eventbrite in order to claim your Alpha key HERE --> https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/copy-of- ... 3949502221

- Your Alpha Steam key will be distributed on our Discord channel Monday morning. --> https://discord.gg/npeDKJh

- Players who participate in this test will be rewarded with a key for the FULL GAME, when released.

All the best,
Invisible Walls
