ABOUT GAMUCATEX
We are an indie student startup of 20 people that focuses on making games that are equally entertaining and useful to teach the player new things. Our games are edutainment. The headquarters are in Copenhagen but we are international with team members across the world. We collaborate with education institutions to improve the learning outcome.

ABOUT THE GAME
Our upcoming game is in pre production. It let’s the player take charge of a civilization that will go through history. Letting you experience what happened in the past according to historical records. Decisions making and dilemmas open for an engaging gameplay. While diplomacy, trade and wars are bound to start conflicts. This innovative game sees characters in cards moving combat on a grid format. The inspiration comes from: Magic, Civilizations, Age of Empires and Heroes.

DETAILS
Remote part time position in a startup, we all work here and enjoy the experience. We are still looking for funding. Currently we don’t have any money, once we get funding or the game is sold we will give you a compensation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a 2d animator you will be creating in-game and cinematic animations that are engaging and believable. In our historical world we have battlefields with humans and mythological creatures. Working with the department leads you are to do animations that contribute to furthering understanding of character and/or action and advance the emotional and gameplay goals of the project. Completing your work will require you to build relationships with many production disciplines, such as Design, Engineering, and Environment, as you all collaborate to achieve the best visual and narrative results for each game. One of the first goals is to build a community around the game and then launch a Kick Starter campaign.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
-Highlight aspects of the game that will benefit from being animated in a team discussion.
-Participating in integration of the animation assets into the game engine (Unity)
-Follow up and artistic validation of the integration with the programmers and artists
-Providing technical support for character artists and animators during entire production process
-Participate in the establishment of the production schedule and respect of the deadline
-Creating concise documentation for toolsets that the team can rely on
-Use traditional animation fundamentals to craft game motions that range from stylized to realistic
-Management and follow-up of our external partners
-Troubleshoot tool implementations and suggest workflow improvements in order to increase the efficiency and creativity of the team.
-Aiming at consistency for the animations.

REQUIREMENTS
-Experience in 2d animations
-A portfolio with animations that you have made
-You can collaborate with team members with limited or no experience in animation and consultants without development experience
-You are open to receive feedback and work with descriptions
-You can adapt the style towards the game.

PLUSES
It would be nice if you have experience with:
Rigging and skinning;
-Using Unity towards Graphical/visual or animation work
-Experience with producing art or animations for video games
-Cinematic or motion capture editing and cleanup
-Strong animation fundamentals with a focus on human movement (timing, weight, balance)
-Character creation (modeling, texturing, and rigging) is a bonus.
-Ability to mentor Junior Animators
-Experience card games
-Experience with producing content from concept art
-Inspiration from similar of different games
