In a push for transparency the Swedish publisher Raw Fury has released their publishing agreement.
Nice move. Let's hope more follow suit though my hopes are not too high.

Vision Denmark has a fun little quiz game on the Danish games industry in 2020. Still available for a day and 12 hours at time of writing.
Ahmm.. my first run was møffi and it wasn't completely focused. Before deciding to get my proper name on the scoreboard for a second run. But at least I am an honest hack!
Play the quiz game here!

UPDATE: If you beat any of my scores (møffi or Jonaz.dk) and post it here. I will reward your efforts with a few steam keys.

God bagjul der ude!
And for no apparent reason (or only that it's cool) I'm just dropping a badass Mandalorian synthwave cover by some guys called YSSY.
And waiting for Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Guess it's going to be a while. Till 2022. But the amount of Star Wars content incoming is just mindboggeling. Also nice 'thing' at the end of the last episode of Season 2. I can live with that!

Glædelig jul Jonaz og tak for dit utrættelig arbejde at holde os underettet med nyheder.
Re: News! Tech! Tools! Talks! Games! And Stuff Worth Sharing!

Re: News! Tech! Tools! Talks! Games! And Stuff Worth Sharing!

Times has indeed changed.
Good times! Det var sgu hyggeligt.
Super cool! Takker! Glad for dine inputs!

The 2 lovely ladies strong Other Tales has done really well with their first game Tick Tock: A Tale for Two. Now part of the top paid charts on the AppStore for 2020. Big grats!
Personal experience with game was not super smooth sailing. Played it with my girlfriend (now future wife to be) around the time of release. She is not into digital gaming AT ALL. So it was a bit of an uphill battle. But otherwise our communication is just perfect.
But happy other people got a better run out of it.
Also the game is nearing 4000 reviews on Steam and has an overall Very Positive rating. A clear indication of the game's success.
With estimated between (78,420 - 235,260) units sold on Steam alone.
Super nice to see a small production with a novel concept, the right execution and a multiplatform release can break through. Even in the Apple AppStore and beyond.

Jabii is DK developed and produced physical/digital game I haven't mentioned yet. Basically it's a digitized very soft boxing game. They shipped their first batch to backers and others this Christmas.
Hmm.. a bit sceptical here. Kind of looks like an expensive short lived gimmick (1300DKK+ for a pair). The simplicity of eg. role playing foam swords are hard to beat in the long run (speaking from experience with the kiddo). Not denying it's probably quite fun to use.
Lets cross fingers they have something.

Serania - Den skjulte arv is a really nice narrative driven fantasy RPG in the style of the Fighting Fantasy books. (Sværd og Trolddom på dansk). It comes in both Danish and English. Think it was released in September 2020.
Titled Serania - Path of the Scion in English.
Played it a few hours yesterday. Haven't hit the paywall yet. And I did actually quite enjoyed it a lot. There is a nice degree of freedom in the game. Also it has all the tropes we know and love! Fighting low level rat enemies and picking up rusty swords etc.. Give it a spin if your ever enjoyed Sværd og Trolddom.
It's mostly a solo project (with a little outside help on illustrations and testing) by developer Peter Ravnholt.

Re: News! Tech! Tools! Talks! Games! And Stuff Worth Sharing!
So the usual me decided to fill up my Steam account even further.
So here is a few quick recommendations!
The TakeOver A really quite well made brawler. Get it while it's 70% off if you are a fan of the genre. I'm damaged by my childhood of playing Double Dragon and Final Fight. Haven't gotten around to playing Streets of Rage 4 or River City Girls yet. But I guess I will get there eventually.
A few of the newer brawlers of the side scrolling kind I have played is worth mentioning. Fight'N Rage that was quite nice. Though I got stuck on a super hard boss fight. So that was a bit of a bummer. Castle Crashers is super sweet. Played it to death with the kiddo. Rampage Knights is pretty nice. More of a rouge-like brawler. Wulver Blade seems quite nice. Should give it some more playtime.
Just scrolling though my library here.. Raging Justice was quite meh. Double Dragon Neon was mmmokish.. Zombie Vikings also in the somewhat okish range. River City Ransom Underground... played 20 minutes of it.. can't really remember it. Viking Squad was ahm.. can't remember. I should give it some playtime again I guess.
But the TakeOver is just pretty a cool brawler that is pretty much everything you could ask for in a recreation of these 80s/90s styled brawlers. A quick fix if you are in need of a old-school Final Fight like brawler.
Also found this little old school gem Alien Shooter from 2003 by Russian developers, Sigma Team. Due to it's overwhelmingly positive reviews. The game looks like trash with dated graphics in the screenshots. But it actually plays quite nice with a few kinks here and there. It's just a basic shooter with huge swarms of aliens and a simple upgrade path. But it just works!
In the sequel Alien Shooter 2 they went for more a moody vibe and story events. The result is that the game plays worse than the original. Don't add story when no story is needed in your game.
For less than 1 euro at 90% off it's a nice little throwback for a few hours.
Also EVERY time I play a brawler or a top down shooter with aliens in scifi environments. I just want to make my own better version.

Song of Iron
I spotted this game a while ago. It's only looking better and better.
By a US based solo developer Joe with a AAA record.
Sadly I missed there was a playable demo a little while back.
Would have loved to take it for a spin.
So far it has a mid 2021 release date. Also releasing on XBOX. Let's see if that holds up. We all know these things can slip.
It is certainly impressive for solo development!
Enjoy the trailer!

Oh man.. Swedes are at it again!
Former Tarsier people.
Section 9 Interactive is a new startup in Malmö working on a new scifi action adventure game for PC and nextgen consoles.
No title for the project has been announced as far as I know.
It looks pretty amazing so far!

Wow.. anede ikke gutten eksisterede!
Men damn! Han har gjort det godt!
And a nice doc on the Elder Scrolls series.
The Elder Scrolls: A Promise Unfulfilled | Complete Elder Scrolls Documentary, History and Analysis
And an interview with danish Julian Jensen.. one of the fathers of The Elder Scrolls series!!! If not THE father.
I had NO idea a DK guy was that deeply involved with the series. Mind blown!
** edit** His 'real' birth name is Benni Jensen according to the video. Just adding to the naming confusion.

RIP Daily Rush 2000-2021
Sadly DK gamer site Daily Rush has announced their closure at the end of January. Due to a combination of international competition and mainly the tragic death of the Jan “Phonetic” de Sousa in 2018. Who was the instrumental driving force behind the sites existence.
(Cheers! and thanks for the port Jan! RIP)
The community around the site will continue in a new user driven fashion with some fragmentation on to established platforms. Another win for big tech.
Cheers! For the 20+ years of existence from spiludvikling.dk!
